This I know for a fact. because I tested the two pistons (MySelf)First off Both blocks have the same Bore But they have diferent strokes. So this is how it goes The 283 piston will work in the 230 And the 307 will work for the 250. You would end up Milling Off To much of the top of a 283 piston to Be able to even think about Trying to use it in a 250. And The Piston Head would Be Very Thin. The 283 also has Different rist pin hight Then that of the 307 I didn't have the numbers here at home But IF i remember right it was over .100 defferance in hight That would have been need to be cut off the top of the piston. Even with useing a flat top 283 piston I beleave the top still would be to thin to use. ( if it had the be milled )
