What a fun weekend! We arrived at the track Friday morning and waited to be picked for the show - a game show based on three contestants predicting the e.t. of the racer's car. You get one pass, no practice, no time runs or re-takes - one pass period.

I didn't get picked for the shows filmed Friday night. Did I mention all the filming was done at night, making for tricky track conditions once the dew point was reached. At 9 PM the rains came and I went home. But the track was dried at 11 and filming continued until 2 AM.

Saturday I hung out doing prep work on some projects hoping to be selected. Finally near the evening I was selected. There were several episodes filmed each night. As the night wore on we watched several episodes being filmed, each one taking about an hour to film. I was to be in the eighth show filmed. By 2 AM the high horsepowered cars started having trouble as the track was made wet from heavy dew rolling in. Finally a little after 3 AM they cancelled racing for the remainder of the night and asked us all to return on Sunday to finish filming.

Sunday were lined up in the staging lanes in a predetermined order. The first cars were low-wager bets and larger wagers were made for later rounds. They brought me out for one of the last rounds. By the way I was the only six cylinder car choosen. Big block / turboed / supercharged / nitrous cars were everywhere. I must say the contestants had no clue about how a straight six car can run.

I'm not going to give away how I ran but since I'm typing this at 1 AM Monday I didn't kill myself. The shows will be aired in February and I'll clue you in when I find out specifics.
