The F54P suffix in your serial number indicates a 1954 engine from Flint. I'm not sure what the "P" indicates. What you also need is the block casting number, which should be a seven-digit number cast onto the block near the fuel pump. The "Casting #'s" link to the left should help you ID the block. Let's hope it's a 261! F54N and F54Q suffixes are for a 261. The numbers above the starter can indicate the date that the block was cast. There should be more than just C84.
