I have four 250's not including the one in my truck and I am planning on getting at least three out of five running so I built the 235 stovebolt engine dolly purely to spec to see what would be needed to adapt to a 250 and I found out alot. The uprights need to be slightly higher and more narrow, and all will be well. It works ok if you hang the oil pan out the back though! I bought enough wood to do the second stand with the mods needed which I will do soon, I will try to post the specs on it for others here. BIG thanks to Stephen "Farmdog" Peterson for the contribution on the stovebolt forum for the 235 plans!
In the meantime, I found that Northern tool has item# 158857 for $35 online and $45 locally which bolts up DIRECTLY to a 250 with 67-72 Chevy truck mounts and probably many others. It is designed to fit a "small block Chevy". Well worth it, and I am going to use this as my run stand and my wooden ones as storage stands. I hope this helps anyone looking to dolly around some engines and again I hope to post the 250 dimensions once I do them too.
