I am looking for a single 2135419 connecting rod to replace a damaged one in my 302. I need the narrow bearing/tang if you have one youd like to sell. Thanks in advance.

I'm sure I have several, but that forging # is one of those crossover style that can have either the wide or narrow tang as well as the small or large diameter wrist pin. So he might need to check that as well....

Hey guys, sorry for the late reply. I was able to source a rod so I should be all set with that. It was interesting learning about the different width bearings on the same casting number rod! I think that surprised a lot of guys on the other forums as well. I still dont think some of them believe me that the rods do in fact have the same casting number, but some were machined for narrow bearings/tangs, and some for wider bearings/tangs.

In any case, one of the things I wanna do is to convert a military 302 to a civilian version, so Ill still need to track down a few other parts, oil pan included.

Would you guys happen to know a good source for both the main and rod bearings? Ive been scouring eBay everyday, but guys want somewhere in the neighborhood of $400 for a set of bearings!

Im also starting to look for valves, intake and exhaust for both a GMC 228 and 302. I had read somewhere that SBC exhaust valves will work, but Ive yet to pull an SBC valve out of my parts bin to compare. Are there any off the shelf valves you guys know of thatll fit either a 228 or 302?

Thanks in advance,

-Jake
