A couple of years ago I switched carburators on our 261 powered 1940 Chevrolet sedan. I had been running a Rochester B with a manual choke, using the original '40 cable & knob in the dash. What I thought was a carburator problem turned out to be a distributor problem. Now I decided I wanted to reinstall the manual choke catburator after it has been on a shelf for two years. I thought I would replace the accelerator pump rather than cleaning/refreshening it. Checking the local NAPA parts store I found they want $66 for an accelerator pump, while a carburator kit that includes a pump is $44. I suppose I'll clean the old one.
