Started work on a 12Bolt work truck.
Bought a really nice 49 GMC. Wanted to upgrade the tires, suspension, steering and brakes. So decided on a frame swap. The donor vehicle is a 2002 Chevy 3500 HD 2 ton truck. It is surprising how well thing line up. Will have to move the engine backwards and down from the factory 2002 location. Engine will be a 292 with the 2002 4L80 transmission

Very solid looking old truck. What engine did it have? I guess for a good useable work truck for your business the conversion is best. Fun to see what you decide to do to the 292 engine for big truck use.

Someone in it's past had swapped out the GMC engine for a 235. Which does run. The 292 will not be a hot rod. Just a nice running workhorse.

Will you use your low end cam? Any more compression? Any head work at all? Good place for a turbo. The gasoline Cummins.

Will probably use my HYTK cam, aim for 9.0 comp. Holley sniper and 4L80 trans controller. Aiming for smooth , stout and reliable. Hydroboost from the 2002 will be reused.

Sounds like a cool truck engine for a cool truck.
