Hi, I didnt see a place for new members to post up so I thought I'd post here first since I'm going to be turbo charging my car. I have a 71 Camaro with a 250 that was turbo charged by the original dealership. It's a V8 car so they must have pulled it in favor of the six for some reason. I don't have too much info as the original owner isn't around anymore. He was a friend of my Dad's. Anyways I don't have the turbo as the first owner missplaced it. Right now I have a clifford 4 barrel intake with the 470 truck avenger carb and split headers. I also have lots of electrical gremlins. It was my first car back in 95 so I did lots of learning and jerry rigging. It's really my own fault lol. Well, I'll be doing lots of lurking and maybe a little posting as I go along. Have a good one eveyone!

Welcome aboard.
Would you happen to have any pics of the turbo install?
Sounds like a rare car.

Thanks guys. I don't have pics of the original install. I've never had the turbo. The original single barrel carb turbo manifold is 400 miles away in my parents garage. I've never seen another car setup like this. About the only thing I could show you is the hood with the bump for the turbo.

Sure, post some pics of the hood, underneath & the outside.
The turbo manifold,,,,the turbo bolts directly to the exhaust manifold?

Haha, Well, I don't have too many current pics, I have to work on that. But here's a couple. Please excuse the messy engine bay. I'm working on that too. As for the turbo manifold; It was like they modified a stock manifold. If I remember right, the turbo mounted to the top of the exhaust manifold behind the carb. I'll have to see if my Dad can find it in his garage. I haven't payed much attention to it since I pulled it off 10 years ago because I didn't want to use a single barrel carb.

Cool car! If the turbo worked good,it would have made more power (Esp more torque)than your current setup, even blowing through a single one barrel carb.
Do you plan on installing a turbo back on it? That would be neat & rare.

Yeah, I'm trying to collect info as to what would be the best way to turbo charge it again. I've seen a cool manifold on here, I think it's the SPA manifold, that might be a good way to go. I'm not sure yet. Buy yeah, that's a big reason why I registered here. It seems like there's some good knowledge on here.

The SPA manifold is good. Use a T-4 turbo, more selection on exhaust housings.
To keep it simple you could blow through a carb.
There is a guy on the Ford 6 forum,w/a Mustang, high mileage 200 CI engine that runs 13's w/a turbo blowing through a 1 BBL carb.
