This is my first time here, hope someone can help me out.I just bought a "46" chevy pickup without a motor or motor mounts and I want to put a "292" in it. Can any one tell me what year mounts I can use or do I have to make something up myself? Do you know of any aftermarket suppliers that might have what I want. THANKS COUNTRYPAPA

countrypapa,

If you can reach Chassis Engineering in Iowa on the phone you can have them send you a catalog. They have some universal upper sets for the 250 / 292 engine. They also have bolt on lower mounts that include the rubber pads and these are made for your frame. Or you can fabricate your own upper and lowers and just use their rubber pads.

Their catalog is free and if nothing else you can get some ideas from it as all parts are well pictured.

I used their lower mounts but trimmed them somewhat and welded them to the frame and then made up my own uppers for reasons too involved to get into here.

Chassis Engineering isn't the only one offering kits for those engines into earlier frames but the catalog is free and gives you a place to start.

Mike
