I'm considering a 93 blazer 3.42 rear in my '39 pu. Would I be wise to use the blazer leaf springs also? They are 2 1/2" wide vs. the stock spring @ 1 3/4" wide. Any body try this?

If there is nothing wrong with the '39 springs, then you won't need to change them over, But you can if you want to do the extra work. My father is running S10 springs in his '36 coupe. Just make sure you have the mounting pockets cut off of the Blazer frame also. You will need to graft them onto your original frame to use those springs.
