It will not upshift into second gear. First and reverse are present and accounted for but second is simply missing.

Linkage is not binding and fluid level is fine. Can see no external vacuum sources, ports or connections to check and shop manual suggests testing internal pressures.

Anyone else have this problem? Anyone have an idea, please?

It could be worn clutch plates,damaged or leaking seals or damaged clutch release valve,bad valve body.In short,time for a rebuild.

If the trans. has not been used for a lenghty period of time,the governor may be stuck.The Low/Drive valve may be stuck also so,you might try reducing the fliud level and adding a quart of K&W brand trans. additive. As mentioned burn clutches in the drive pack may also be the problem, so it won't hurt to try the additive first. Paul
