hi there i have a 179 cubic inch 6 cyl with some mechenical injection on methanol in a B/MA race car over here in australia. its not a big time race motor it shows about 210 hp to the track and runs about 12.6 to 1 compression. i am trying to step it up a little with some direct port nitrous but most people dont seem to be able to tell me what to use as a second fuel ( for the nitrous ) the best i have come up with is just use a high grade race gas i.e. C16 over here. have any you blokes run a bit of nitrous on a methanol motor and have a few sugestions ..??? thanks

I read somewhere that no2 and alke don't mix well.
but I would think that you plumb it from your tank with another pump and run it that way. BUT! I am no expert about this subject, so I could be wrong.

hay mike i have two tanks and seperate pumps , to actualy set up a system most people who sell the nitrous kits could help me with , plus i bought a tech book on the subject .but nothing covers alcohol and when i asked the top 3 suppliers i got 3 diferent stories and they each told me the others wouldnt work ????? what do you do with that info??? i did not think it would be hard to find out what to use as an enrichment fuel until i started asking but it must have been done before?? thanks for your reply mike if i get it sorted ill let you know .. ron

You may what to check out the tech underlying 'Mud Racing' . . . I have watched them on Speed Channel and some of them mix alky and nOS directly - with no alternate fuel. There's even governance for races in the northern territories that specifically calls it out:

I am no racer but what intrigues me is the ignition of a charge with the 'latent heat' characteristics of alcohol cooled even further by nitrous. This includes the intake plenum considerations/temps to prevent the charge from separating/liquifying.

But the Mud Buggy guys seem to have figured this all out . . .
