Larry Doane's '50 Willys Pickup

Here are some photos of my 1950 Willys pickup. It is powered by a 1965 Rambler 196” OHV engine and it has a 2 barrel Weber carb, Pertronix ignition and RV camshaft (regrind).

The little Rambler engine is the best part of the truck and It just purrs.

I have converted it to a Saturn overdrive trans and 16" wheels allow freeway use. Axle ratios are 5.38. I've had the truck for 4 years, it was used as a snow plow in Colorado at the end of its last life. It is an ongoing project, not a show truck or hot rod. I love driving it and with the overdrive and will go 80 mph, downhill. It is also equipped with a Ford 6CD radio and a 1946 Harrison GM accessory heater.
