Dennis and Beckie's Fun '31 Model A

Hi, I am Inliner #2192.  Here is a photo of our 1931 Model A 2-door, that we purchased as a rusty relic in 2002.  All of the work except for the machine work and upholstery was done by me over a period of 3 years. It was finished and licensed in 2005 and now has about 2,000 trouble-free miles on it.

It is powered by a 181 cu. in. Mercruiser that i got from a wrecked boat, then rebuilt.  It has a Chevy II head with 1.94"  and 1.50" swirl-polished stainless valves, mild pocket-porting and a solid lifer cam.  The pistons are 9:1 for a bore of 4.03.  I built my own water-heated intake and mounted 2 Carter-Weber progressive 2-barrel carbs that I bought from Tom Langdon. They have been one of the best investments I ever made for a hot rod!  The transmission is an SR-4 Borg-Warner, coupled to a V8 Maverick 8" rear end with 3.55 gears.  The front end has a 4" dropped axle with '53 Ford pickup brakes.  It was fun to build and drive and  my wife, Beckie, and I get a lot of thumbs up from folks we meet on the road. I would be proud to see it posted on this great site!

Thanks, Dennis & Beckie Hutchinson, Danville, PA
